I created the "Out of This Sorrow" series right after my Mom died at the end of 2011. The grief manifested in my body as physical pain, and at the time, the only activity that was easing it was the act of drawing. I created a small series of large-scale drawings followed by a series of photo etchings to release the hurt I felt in my body.
